Our Roots
Koala came to life in 2019, but our story began years before. Our founders earned their stripes building some of the most awarded, pioneering digital experiences and apps in the restaurant industry, from Shake Shack’s original award-winning app to Potbelly’s unified commerce site. Though proud of their work, they saw the challenges; huge costs, long-build times and a lack of flexibility in the UX, to name but a few. What’s more, industry leading digital ordering experiences were only available to the biggest players who could afford to build and manage them.
A New Vision
So they chose a pioneering new path. A reimagining of the fundamentals of digital ordering UX. Ground in a first of its kind SaaS model, freed from custom code and bringing together decades of UX experience and best practices, Koala offers a quick to market, affordable, cutting edge suite of products, that immediately elevates any restaurants digital ordering and app UX to a new level of quality and usability.
